Chace Moss

Chace Moss is a concert pianist and esteemed composer of Chesapeake, Virginia. While born and raised in central Florida, he began taking piano lessons at the age of six, focusing on what is considered the classical essentials for many years. With his strong background, he and his family moved up to Virginia and had him enrolled into the Governor's School for the Arts in Norfolk. There, he flourished many new skills, including the introduction to the world of composition.

Chace partook in a variety of musical experiences during this time, such as playing in the pit of an orchestra conducted by Alma Deutscher, planning rehearsals on his own to perform with over a dozen of his peers, and even going to WGI World Championships in his freshman year for percussion. He has had a lot of time on the stage playing piano in front of a full house, performing works ranging from Bach and Prokofiev to jazz artists like Bill Evans and Herbie Hancock. He adores the art of improvisation and notices the wonderful influence it can have on the player(s) and listeners.

Currently enrolled at Old Dominion University, Chace is pursuing his degree in Music Theory and Composition. With his brotherhood in Phi Boota Roota Percussion Fraternity, his peers in the instrumental department at ODU, and every passionate musician who comes across his path, he hopes to pass on his love and understanding of music to each student efficiently and with care.
